Wyatt Krueger

Wyatt grew up in Western New York and has lived an active lifestyle his entire life. From being a multi-sport athlete throughout high school to weight training and conditioning in college where he attended the University at Buffalo, earning his business degree. After college Wyatt moved to Boston, MA where he discovered CrossFit. There, he was trained and coached by some of the best and most knowledgeable CrossFitters in the world. Wyatt opened CrossFit Amherst as a means of creating an outlet for people in the Western New York area to explore their fitness potential and improve their life through general physical preparedness. Whether their aim is to qualify for the CrossFit Games, look good, or to simply become more active, our athletes have helped create the infectious community that is CrossFit Amherst.

Becca Mahl

Becca comes to CrossFit Amherst from Reebok World Headquarters in Canton, MA where she was a part of the Reebok design team and currently does consulting work, utilizing her masters degree in Design Management. Becca discovered her passion for CrossFit at the prestigious Reebok CrossFit ONE.  She was coached and trained with top CrossFit athletes and coaches. Becca originally grew up in Western New York and has lived a very active lifestyle her entire life, from being a multi-sport athlete throughout high school to playing college soccer at RIT in Rochester, NY and UTS in Sydney, Australia.  Becca brings passion, spirit and a vast knowledge of fitness to the CrossFit Amherst coaching staff!

Shane Stadtmueller

Shane grew up in Central New York where he immersed himself in the world of sport and fitness early on. He attended Alfred University where he earned his degree in Athletic Training as well as competed in track and field in the heptathlon and decathlon through which he was exposed to CrossFit. Shane gained valuable experience working closely with the university strength and conditioning program. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science at the University at Buffalo. As a coach, Shane brings to CrossFit Amherst, a wealth of knowledge in injury prevention and management, mobility, Olympic lifting, endurance training and much more!

Matt WatsonMattCoachPic

Matt has lived in Western New York his whole life and enjoys a wide variety of physical activities from soccer to hiking and snowboarding. After spending years in the weight room doing traditional strength training, he found CrossFit. As an athlete and personal trainer, there was no denying the holistic gains possible through CrossFit. He began using its methods with his personal training clients, began coaching through several local programs, and has spent the last several years seeing measurable success in each individual he’s had the honor of training. Matt currently attends the University at Buffalo’s Exercise Science program with the intent of earning a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He brings a wide range of experience in working with many different types of athletes and ability levels, and knows how to get the most out of each and every one.

Becca Witkin

Becca is a Buffalo native who has been incredibly active her whole life. She has a background in competitive swimming, skiing, and holds a Black Belt in both Krav Maga and Karate. She trained and coached multiple disciplines of martial arts for over 9 years. After earning her Bachelors degree from SUNY Oswego, Becca found CrossFit as a way to get back in shape. She was immediately drawn to the intensity of the sport and the tight knit community that surrounds it. Becca is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. As a coach, Becca brings a passion for human movement, fitness, and an infectious outgoing energy to CrossFit Amherst!

Cristobal Martinez

Cristobal came to CrossFit Amherst in December 2014 with more than 10 years of fitness experience under his belt. Coming from a family of athletes, specifically soccer players, he has always been hooked on training and the amazing benefits of nutrition and proper movement. He found CrossFit on the west coast back in 2008 when the typical gym routine just wasn’t cutting it anymore and he needed a greater challenge. He then decided that he enjoyed CrossFit so much, that he would dedicate his time to teaching and helping others in their fitness journeys and became a coach at a local gym. Now, he spends his time studying to become a Chiropractor at D’Youville College where he can again reinforce the benefits of fitness, mobility, proper nutrition, etc. When he’s not in the library, he’s in the gym training hard and loving every second of it! “Always be better”

Kody found CrossFit Amherst in the beginning of the 2014 school year. Simply looking for something to do while adjusting to his new collegiate lifestyle Kody quickly realized that CrossFit was more than just an exercise routine. Playing soccer throughout high school and being involved in more extreme sports such as go kart racing and snowmobiling, he quickly saw how important functional fitness is in all sports and life activities. Everyone in Kody’s immediate family does CrossFit so he understands that CrossFit is truly for everyone, and constantly observes the benefits of adding CrossFit to ones lifestyle. Kody is currently studying mechanical engineering at the University at Buffalo and always finds a way to balance schoolwork and fitness training. Kody brings an outgoing, and very helpful attitude as well as a passion for gymnastics movement to CrossFit Amherst.

Jason grew up in Southwest Michigan where he played high school and college basketball. He came to CrossFit Amherst from Orlando, FL where he received his CrossFit level 1. Jason found Crossfit at CrossFit Mosaic training under Richard Millsap, as a means to increase his overall fitness while playing semi pro basketball in Orlando. Jason has trained with some of the best athletes and coaches in the basketball world and truly understands what it takes to perform at a high level. Jason loves the community around CrossFit and enjoys the ever changing and challenging workouts. Jason brings a friendly and very helpful attitude, as well as a vast knowledge of fitness training for athletes of all levels.
